Reviewed Eggnog

Saturday, Dec 7, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is amazing as written, but what sends it over the top is a little splash of vanilla extract. Definitely the easiest eggnog recipe I've ever made too. I make it with Splenda because I'm diabetic. It's impossible to find any in the stores that's sugar free, so I love that I can make this sugar free, and it tastes better than any of the stuff...

Reviewed Balsamic Roasted Beet Salad

Thursday, Nov 14, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was amazing. The mixture of flavors and textures was perfect. I've never had one of Ina's recipes turn out less than delicious, but this may be the best one yet. Even my boyfriend who hates beets loved it.

Reviewed Stewed Chick Peas with Tomatoes and Zucchini

Friday, Nov 8, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Really good, although I took a couple shortcuts. I used 2 cans of chickpeas instead of cooking my own, and used a can of fire roasted diced tomatoes instead of the fresh tomatoes. I also added some cherry peppers I had in the fridge, and topped it with some feta cheese. It was super easy doing it this way, but I bet it's even better when you follow...

Reviewed Perfect Roast Chicken

Tuesday, Oct 22, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

I'd seen Ina make roast chicken several times and thought, eh, roast chicken is roast chicken. But I finally gave this recipe a try today and this is officially the best roast chicken I've ever had. My only complaint was it was a little heavy on the thyme, which isn't my favorite herb. I'll either cut way back or sub in some rosemary next time. Otherwise...

"Very tasty. The closest recipe I've found to my favorite restaurant version. I used shiitake mushrooms instead of the white button. Very easy too. Will definitely make again."

Reviewed Bloody Mary Flank Steak

Saturday, Aug 10, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"This turned out really tasty. My boyfriend is a big bloody mary fan, and I don't really like them, but we both loved it on the steak. Made a few small changes. Used tomato juice instead of vegetable juice, used skirt steak instead of flank steak, and added extra hot sauce. I also sauteed some onions and bell peppers and then cooked it with a littl"

Reviewed Spicy Mint Beef

Friday, Jul 5, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"This was quite tasty. Very spicy, but we're big fans of spice here, and you could easily cut that down by leaving out some of the chiles or just removing the seeds and ribs from them. I couldn't find the soy sauces, so I used a combination of regular soy sauce and molasses, which a friend who lived in Singapore and Indonesia told me was the best s"

Friday, Jun 28, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"I thought this recipe was just mediocre. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the amazing pop of flavor I was hoping for, so I probably won't make it again. Definitely easy to make though."

Reviewed Chocolate-Almond Meringues

Saturday, Jun 15, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"I love the flavor of these with the almond extract. They were pretty easy to make, although I did make a few changes. I used splenda instead of sugar to make it diabetic-friendly, and I cut down the amount to a quarter cup. I also used mini chocolate chips instead of the chocolate. These are a very satisfying sweet treat that's easy on the waistli"

Sunday, May 5, 2013 on Cooking Channel

"Pretty good, and easy to make. I made some additions. Garlic and red pepper flake for more flavor, and some shiitake mushrooms. I didn't really think the sauce needed the cornstarch. It turned out a little thicker than I'd like. "

"Really easy and quite tasty. Would be really good with a slice of pepper jack cheese. I left out the chips, and used a store bought salsa. "

Thursday, Feb 14, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"These are crazy good. Maybe the richest and most chocolatey dessert I've ever had. Pretty easy to make too. The only issue I had was that it was hard to get them out of the pan in one piece. It wasn't that they were sticking - the centers were just a little too liquid to come out easily, but I didn't want to bake them longer and risk cooking the c"

Reviewed Roasted Asparagus with Hollandaise

Thursday, Feb 14, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"This is by far the easiest and most foolproof way to make hollandaise sauce. It was incredibly delicious with the asparagus. It was a little on the thin side for a hollandaise, but I did add some extra lemon juice because I love the lemony flavor. I also had large eggs instead of extra large, which may have made a difference. I will definitely be "

Reviewed Herb-Marinated Pork Tenderloins

Monday, Jan 28, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"This is a really good, basic marinade for pork tenderloin. It's easy to do and turned out delicious. In the future, I think I'd leave it in the oven a little longer, it was still a tad too pink in the center for my tastes. I'll definitely be making this again though."

Reviewed Crispy Mac and Cheese Cups

Wednesday, Jan 23, 2013 on Cooking Channel

"This sauce is incredibly delicious. It doesn't taste quite like the mac and cheese I'm used to, but way better than I was expecting for a lower calorie, healthier version. The only issue I had with this recipe was that I had to roast the butternut squash about 10 minutes longer, and I still didn't get a very smooth puree, so I added a little chick"

Tuesday, Jan 22, 2013 on Cooking Channel

"Really great flavor, and pretty easy to make. I used mahi mahi instead of halibut, and added a little fish sauce to enhance the Thai flavor. I think this would also work well with something like tilapia or cod. I'll definitely be making this again. "

Reviewed Fettuccine with Creamy Red Pepper-Feta Sauce

Sunday, Jan 20, 2013 on Cooking Channel

"This was good, but not amazing. I added a little basil and red pepper flakes to the sauce for some more flavor, and served with boneless skinless chicken breast. It's a quick and easy meal that's relatively light and healthy, so I'll probably make it again. "

Thursday, Jan 17, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"These brownies are very good. My only complaint is that the caramel flavor wasn't terribly strong, but the sweet, chocolately brownie with the occasional salty burst of flavor is amazing. This is also one of the easiest from scratch brownie recipes I've tried. I don't know how any of the other reviewers managed to have trouble with it. As always w"

"This turned out pretty tasty, but I felt like the filling needed just a little something to take it over the top and make it amazing. Maybe a little spice? Otherwise I was quite pleased. Reviewed Green Beans Gremolata

Saturday, Jan 12, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"I roasted the green beans for this recipe instead of blanching and then sauteing, and tossed with the gremolata as soon as they came out of the oven. The roasting took about 25 minutes at 425. It made this recipe even easier than it was to begin with. I thought the gremolata was quite tasty, but it seemed like it needed a little acid, so next time"

"This recipe was definitely easy to make, and it was pretty good. I don't know if I just had an extra juicy lemon or what, but I found the sauce to be a little too tart. Next time I think I might leave out the vinegar all together, or just add the zest of the lemon instead of the juice. I also added some artichoke hearts (not marinated, just packed"

Reviewed Broiled Halibut with Ricotta-Pea Puree

Monday, Jan 7, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"I should preface this by saying I made several changes to this recipe, due to availability of ingredients and personal taste. I used tilapia instead of halibut, as my local fish shop did not have any halibut (I don't think it's actually in season right now). I added some zucchini to the vegetables, and next time I think I will leave out the carrot"
