Outstanding!! It was nice to see a recipe that is exactly like my grandfathers! He was born in Calabria and his braciole was always cooked in meat sauce. This has great flavor and is a stand out recipe. I prepared this recipe exactly as stated and it was perfection.

"Although easy to make it really didn't taste like caramel. It was more like a brown sugar sauce. The sugar just doesn't really completely dissolve because of the lack of liquid so it is a bit granular. Has a nice brown sugar flavor though. I too had to add more half & half. Great sauce in a pinch but for me it just doesn't have a caramel taste. I'"
