"I used this as a base and then added my own twist to this (more cummin and more heat). I also added kidney beans. We entered my variation in a chili cook-off. The competition was telling the taste testers, "If you want good chili, go to Elsmere's table." I piped on sour cream, included freshly chopped chive and freshly shredded cheddar. "
