"I thought this was a good recipe and with my tweaks I Thought it was very good. I used leftover jasmine rice, I did not use any meat but instead used a couple different mushrooms and some squash I needed to use up. Also, I flavored it with a little five spice bc I did not have any fresh ginger, a large clove of fresh garlic and lite soy sauce."
"I liked the dish but it was very, very spicy. I like spicy but perhaps because I have never bought ancho chiles before, I got ones larger than the recipe called for. Plus, I used 2 jalapenos instead of a red one like Rachael called for. The avocado sauce was a must and helped balance the dish. I watched the video and in the video she does not rins"
"Good recipe except I decreased the amounts of salt & sugar. Serve it with platanos maduros (sweet ripe plantain slices) & plain white rice. My touch to these beans...I eat the maduros with some sour cream & also dollop sour cream on top of the beans...umm."
"I tweaked it a little adding more fresh garlic, red wine, little bit of brown sugar, a bit more red pepper flakes because I like more spice, and I simmered it slowly longer. I served it with angel hair pasta & sprinkled it with Italian parsley & parmigiano reggiano. Very, very tasty. Next time I will use fresh basil bc if it turned out this good w"
