Reviewed Roasted Beet and Mint Hummus

Thursday, Jan 9, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I had three large roasted beets and just hadn't gotten around to making a salad with them so seeing this recipe executed on TV was a godsend. Didn't have any mint so used up some dill and parsley instead. My hummus was a deep ruby red not the pink that Jeff was going for on the show so I probably had a higher proportion of beets to chickpeas, although...

Reviewed Green Bean Casserole

Sunday, Dec 29, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Excellent once again this year. Made these at my mother's for our Christmas dinner so had to make some variations, but they still came out delicious! Doubled the amount of mushrooms, skipped the brandy, and made fried leek rings instead of onions for the garnish. Recipe is foolproof!

"I rediscovered my cast iron skillet the other week after using it to great success to prepare a potato gratin so I was pleased to use it again after seeing Laura make this oh so simple chicken dish on her show using a cast iron pan. I could not bring myself to plop 4 tablespoons (and certainly not the whole stick i.e. the 8 tablespoons she used o"

Reviewed Aubergine and Cumin Charlottes with Tomato and Coriander Salad

Thursday, Sep 27, 2012 on Cooking Channel

"I didn't make the tomato salad but the eggplant dish was spectacularly delicious! The recipe is very simple but has some discreet steps to prepare the eggplant before filling the ramekins. Just keep in mind that you'll need two slices of eggplant for each ramekin so I ended up with five servings rather than six with the eggplants I used. It all"

Reviewed Tortilla, Bean and Cheese Casserole ("Enfrijoladas"

Saturday, Sep 8, 2012 on FoodNetwork.com

"I'm always looking for more recipes to incorporate beans so I greatly appreciated Marcela's dedicating the entire episode to "pot beans." The previous tip about heating the tortillas (I used the microwave) was much appreciated. I also loved how simple the preparation was for this dish. I made this for Sunday breakfast so stuffed with scrambled "

"Wow! So this was a great recipe that I proudly served to dinner guests last evening. It's really more technique than an actual recipe since the actual veggies used are only a matter of what you have on hand. I served mine on a bed of dressed baby spinach and used red and candy striped beets, yellow and white carrots, radishes, zucchini, and some"

Monday, Jul 18, 2011 on FoodNetwork.com

"I love wings but I guess I don't care for pomegranate molasses. This is a surprise to me because I love pomegranate juice and seeds. Watching Aarti the other day I thought this a perfect dish to make for a viewing party for the Women's World Cup final yesterday. The preparation was quite simple and I was pleased to have a chance to use a bottle"

"Fantastic! I'd pretty much decided I wouldn't be cooking artichokes--baby or otherwise--after I was painfully poked by one of the leaves, but when I saw the babies on sale I thought I'd give them another chance and this will be my go to recipe. I love Anne's recipes in general and this one did not disappoint. I watched the video of her making th"
