"Our family thinks these are terrific. For an easy, but very tasty meal, this is a good standby for us!"

Sunday, Mar 24, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

"This cake was a HUGE success. It looked great and tasted like heaven. In all, it took about 3.5 hours to make since I had to run back to the grocery store to buy more ingredients for the frosting and make an additional batch. I was not happy. The amount of frosting with this recipe is ridiculous. It was enough to LIGHTLY frost the layers, top"

"I'm making this now. The timing in the recipe has to be off. It says "cook time - 2 hours." For a 3 1/2 pound rib roast, it won't take more than 1 - 1 1/4 hours total. If you put the potatoes in after an hour, they won't have time to cook. I wish this recipe reflected the correct times.
Here goes...... wish me luck."

"This was a HUGE hit. Honestly, I was skeptical at first. However, this dish turned out delicious. I can't wait to make it again! Don't forget all the extras (pico, avocado, cheese, tortillas, etc.) Next time, I'm going to have a salsa verde sauce ready. It needs some kind of sauce.... otherwise, excellent.""

"I agree with everyone! This was a smash hit in my mouth. Everyone else loved it too. It wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be with the mayo.
Will keep this recipe handy. PS - I added sliced almonds.""

Thanks, G!""

"Very good! I made the recipe as prescribed, with only one exception; I only used 1/4 cup olive oil in the beginning. Worked perfectly and wasn't oily. Great dish. Very tender chicken, and the spaghetti tasted great! Will definitely make again.""

Reviewed Grapefruit Zabaglione over Mixed Berries

"Yowza! WAY too much grapefruit taste in the zabaglione. Plus, it just wasn't a tasty dish. Next time, I'll just top the berries with good ole whipped cream.

Reviewed Goan Beef Curry with Vinegar: Beef Vindaloo

Thursday, Jan 27, 2011 on FoodNetwork.com

"This was a good dish. Tasty, but the beef wasn't that tender after 30 minutes. There WILL be a next time, however, I may simmer it for at least an hour... or even put it in the slow cooker.

Reviewed Lamb Ragu with Mint

Saturday, Jan 22, 2011 on FoodNetwork.com

"Good dish, but certainly not fantastic. It's pasta with lamb sauce. The ground lamb stands out in the dish, and that's a good thing. However, it's simple and non-sensational. I wouldn't make it for guests. (I tend to gravitate toward exciting dishes for guests.) The garlic bread was the highlight of dinner. What does that tell you? PS - Light a candle after dinner. The house will smell a tad lamb-y.

"I only made the salmon from this recipe. Now, I'm not a big salmon person (too fishy at times), but this simple recipe turned me into a salmon lover! It was fantastic. Thanks, Ina! I suppose I'll have to try the entire recipe next time.

Reviewed Savannah Seafood Gumbo

Saturday, Jan 22, 2011 on FoodNetwork.com

"Super!! I had never made gumbo, nor a roux, before and was a little intimidated. However, it turned out to be quite simple as long as you pay attention to what you're doing. This dish was AWESOME and I was very impressed (with myself). Everyone loved it too! I must say, this was one of the best gumbo's I've eaten. I used scallops, shrimp, cajun sausage, a few crab claws, and a bag of crawfish tails. Mighty good! I have already invited guests over in a few weeks so I can make this for them.

Reviewed Herb Crusted Pork Tenderloin

"Great pork tenderloin, Paula! Easy recipe and great flavors. I will definitely keep this handy. I had a 3-lb tenderloin and was surprised how quickly it cooked. Glad I was keeping an eye on it. Oven got quite smokey too, but it was worth it.

Reviewed French Apple Tart

"Ok, I've made this three times and each time the butter soaks under the pastry and burns the edges (using parchment paper). It seems to be a good recipe, but not spectacular. I don't think there will be a fourth try. :(

"Having just been to Tuscany, where this dish is on every menu, I was anxious to try this recipe. It was very, very good and tasted just like the real stuff! It was even better the second day. Beware - it makes PLENTY! A great pot o' food for cold winter days. Thanks, Ina.

"Ugh. So disappointing. Was very hot, which is ok, but the flavors just weren't there. I was primarily not impressed with the way the skirt steak [and veggies] turned out. Not much flavor. I marinated it for 24 hours, but using an indoor grill didn't do the trick. I should have used the real outdoor grill. Nonetheless, we didn't like the taste and did the MANY dishes begrudgingly.
Good luck.

Reviewed Avocado Flan

Tuesday, Oct 19, 2010 on Food Network

"Ok, I only tried this because her Tilapia a la Veracruzana was so sensational. However, this was a crowd-displeaser. I was the only one, of four, that finished it. (And it was only in a little ramekin.) The three others only took a bite or two. It's more like an avocado souffle, but with less taste. It was ok... nothing too special. I don't think the corn salsa did it much justice either. Since the "flan" has such a mild taste, the salsa should be a little zippier, or spicier, to kick it up. I'll be curious to see what others think.

Sunday, Oct 17, 2010 on Food Network

"I don't make fish dishes too often, because I'm fairly picky about the taste of fish. However, I thought this one sounded decent so I decided to try it last night. WOW! NO KIDDING.... this is the best fish dish I have ever made.... possibly ever eaten. I immediately sent it out to other family members. It was simple to make and wowed everyone at the table. I followed the recipe, point by point, except I left it in the oven for almost 15 minutes. Very tender and flaky. Thanks, Marcela! I will make this often, especially when I have guests over. (I paired this with saffron basmati rice and a simple green salad.)
